While there were some questionable moustaches on certain MVRC staff members throughout November, it was all for a great cause as the Club raised over $8,000 for Movember Australia. Movember are the leading charity changing the face of men’s health, with a focus on prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health and suicide prevention. Since 2003, money raised from the Movember movement has gone towards funding over 1,250 men’s health projects. “We were thrilled to work with the team at the Moonee Valley Racing Club this Movember to help stop men dying too young,” said Jake Lambert, Movember’s Community Development Executive. “By having racing personalities Ben Asgari and Dean Yendell lead the team, along with a group of dedicated Mo Bro’s and Mo Sista’s from the Club’s staff, we were able to raise crucial funds and awareness for Testicular Cancer, Prostate Cancer and Mental Health & Suicide Prevention.” “Not only did the club raise over $8,000, the amount of men Movember was able to reach through activating at The Valley throughout the month promoted conversations and action around men’s health and we’re already looking forward to what the 2020 hairy season looks like at The Valley!” Source
